A development company that will tell you when not to build
Perfect Web Metrix is a web and software development company based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, working with clients across the UK, the United States and Europe.
How we work
We build websites, web applications, mobile apps and bespoke business software. The work spans React and Next.js on the front end, Node.js and Laravel on the back, React Native for mobile, and WordPress where a content-led site is genuinely the right tool.
Engagements are scoped in phases and priced fixed per phase, against a written scope agreed before that phase begins. Anything substantial starts with paid discovery, because quoting a number against a brief nobody has interrogated helps neither side — it just moves the disagreement to later in the project.
You own the code from the first commit. Repositories are in your organisation's account, hosting and domains are registered in your name, and handover documentation is part of the work rather than something negotiated at the end. We have no interest in retaining clients through infrastructure they cannot leave.
What we will tell you that a supplier might not
- When an off-the-shelf product would serve you better than a build. Licensing something that already works is usually cheaper than commissioning software, and we would rather say so during the sales conversation than discover it together six months in.
- When you do not need a mobile app. If people would open it a few times a year, the install is a barrier and a good responsive site will serve them better for a fraction of the cost.
- When your existing system is worth keeping. Rewrites take longer than anyone estimates and pause feature work for their duration. Where targeted work on the current codebase will do, that is what we will propose.
- What we cannot promise about search rankings. We can build the conditions that make ranking possible and we can be specific about them. Nobody controls Google's results, and a guaranteed position is not a thing a supplier can honestly sell.
- What ongoing maintenance will actually cost. Software is not a one-off purchase: dependencies age, operating systems move, and an unmaintained app eventually stops building. We would rather you budgeted for that at the start.
Where we are, and who we work with
We are based at 66 Devonshire, Keighley, West Yorkshire, and a good share of our work is with businesses across Yorkshire — Keighley, Bradford, Leeds and the surrounding area — where we can meet in person when that is useful.
The rest is remote, mostly in the United States, France and the Netherlands. We keep local numbers for the UK, US and French markets, and we work to overlapping hours rather than expecting clients to adjust to ours.
We work in English, French, Dutch and German.
